Learning with Us

learndirect courses are a flexible way of learning anywhere you have access to the Internet. Your responsibility is to set aside enough time for your learning. We want this to be a hassle- free and rewarding learning experience, so in return our responsibilities to you are.

1. Course registration

We will provide you with swift course registration and payment to assure that you can access the learning you want, when you want it.

2. Welcome learners

We will welcome you to Mersey VLC and learning with learndirect by sending you a Welcome Pack. Our Welcome Pack contains a complete course catalogue, a guide to help you make the most of the services learndirect provides and your tailored learning agreement.

3. Course access

We will allow prompt access to your course subject to receipt of your signed learner agreement and payment accounting for any reduced fee eligibility that applies to you. Payment can be made by cheque or postal order made out to ‘Connect Internet Solutions Ltd.’ and returned in our pre-printed freepost envelope. We can also accept payment by invoice, credit / debit card on this website through secure credit card payment.

4. Set completion dates

We will set completion dates based upon your individual learning agreement and the amount of time you can dedicate to your learning. Each course shows the total number of hours that it will take, but you do not have to complete your courses in one go. We usually recommend at least two hours per week and this can be negotiated with your tutor.

5. Tutor support

We will assign you a tutor as a point of contact should you have any queries. Where learners are studying more specialised courses we will provide the option of a more specialist tutor which are provided at an additional charge.

6. Check progress

We will monitor your progress on each course. This is performed by simply ticking boxes to confirm you have finished a particular aspect of a course. We monitor your progress to ensure that your learning is progressing smoothly and to comply with the requirements for learners receiving government funding (a discounted price) to study a course.
